Dr. Botelho is Professor of Family Medicine and Assistant Dean of Faculty and Student Development at the new College of Medicine at Florida International University in Miami. He was previously Professor of Family Medicine at the University of Rochester School of Medicine in Rochester, NY and Assistant Professor of Medicine at State University of New York at Buffalo. He has received more than $4.5 million dollars of faculty development grants over the past 20 years and has presented workshops in more than 20 countries. In 2004, he published the book Motivational Practice: Promoting Healthy Habits and Self-Care of Chronic Diseases. He is currently authoring a follow-up book titled Motivate Healthy Habits: Changing Ourselves, Our Families, Organizations, Communities and Culture.
